Dzongri is a popular short trekking in Sikkim and a perfect option for all those busy people who find it hard to manage time out of their busy schedule for a holiday. You get to see many high peaks as you traverse along the Dzongri trek route. Dzongri La is the last spot of the trek map and the view that you get from this view point is breathtakingly beautiful. The trek starts from Yuksom located about 6hrs from Gangtok. It ends in Yuksom as well after 5 days. You can extend the trip by including sight-seeing in places like Gangtok, Darjeeling, Pelling and the likes. Dzongri trekking would be a lifetime experience.
Day 1 : Arrive Bagdogra airport/NJP Railway Station, drive to Gangtok for 4 hours S/on Hotel.
Day 2 : Local sight seeing of Gangtok that of Rumtek Monastery, Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show Centre, Enchey Monastery, Cottage Industry, Banjhakri Falls, Lingung Monastery Bulbuley zoological park.
Day 3 : Gangtok drive to Yuksom, (138kms) 6 hours, S/on Hotel.
Day 4 : The trek begins from Yuksom and we trek to Tshoka (2048m) and this takes around 5 – 6 hrs.
Day 5 : From Tshoka we trek to Dzongri via Phedang (3484m) and that takes approximately 6 hrs as well.
Day 6 : You take a trip of the Dzongrilia located at 4500m. We rest here for the day by camping here.
Day 7 : We trek back to Tshoka and spent the day at a tent or hut
Day 8 : Tshoka trek to Yuksum (1560 m/16km/6hrs).
Day 9 : Yuksum to Darjeeling via pelling
Day 10 : Darjeeling full day sight seeing
Day 11 : Drop back to Bagdogra/NJP station according to schedule.
